And we simply cannot enjoy nice things. McCracken leads off the second with an HBP, walk, walk, and then gets a routine double play ball, but while we get the force at 2nd, but then Gallo sails the throw. Now 3-1, with runners on the corners, and only one out.

Then a double ties it up. Couldn’t even make a 3 run lead last for a single inning. 3 runs, and there was only one hit.

Owls trying to give it all back.

HBP, walk, walk, FC makes it 3–1. F9 to shallow RF keeps it at 3-1.

Double ties it up. Sigh.

Memphis scores 3 on 1 hit. All 3 free passes score.

Gallo and Devenny lead off the B3 with singles.

And of course, Riedel follows the 2 on no out start with a K. More sigh.

And then Gallo is thrown out trying to steal 3rd.

A seeing eye pop up to short RF scores a run. 4-3.

After Memphis scored 3 on 1 hit, it takes the Owls 3 hits to score 1.

Cost us a run, as a bloop double by Rank drops in shallow LF to drive in Devenny. We’ll take the lead, 4-3, though

Anyone who excuses the coaching staff on the incredibly high frequency of strikeouts-- even against woeful pitching-- is simply turning a blind eye. The number of strikeouts with runners in scoring position and less than two outs is beyond insanity. Don't the coaching staff bother to teach the need to put the ball in play in those situations?

I haven’t heard anyone here excusing the coaching staff, players or administration on anything related to Owls’ baseball.

Sign of the end times? Owls get a 1-2-3 inning in the T4.

Owls get runners and first and second with no outs, but Gallo can’t get a bunt down. Ks instead. Devenney gets an infield single to load the bases for Reidel (would have scored the tying run).

Reidel then strikes out.

Rank grounds out to the pitcher. Once again, the Owls squander a great scoring opportunity.

The most inefficient offense in all of college baseball.

RE: Memphis v Rice baseball game 2
In the T5, Memphis scores 2 runs on no hits. Walk, WP, HBP, walk, pitching change, double play, WP.

All 5 Memphis runners who scored were aboard due to a free pass (walk or HBP). The 3 Memphis hits to this point have not played into the scoring

Meanwhile the Owls have 9 hits and only 4 runs.

Correction - Memphis double in the 3rd scored 2, so a Memphis hit did figure in the scoring.

And start off the top of the ninth with two walks. Trying to take the suspense out of the bottom of the 9th.

Memphis is capable of getting a bunt down, moving the runners over.

Huge K for Stratton!

Back to back Ks for Stratton and we dodge a bullet! Now to the bottom of the ninth…

Nice job by Stratton getting out of a 2 on no out mess! 4-5 going to B9

Owls have 3 outs to score hopefully at least 2.

Riedel flare to short CF snagged by the SS. 1 out.

Rank walks on full count.

Duffield Ks on ball 3. 2 outs.

McDonald to pinch hit for Correa, and he Ks on 3 pitches.

If this game doesn’t sum up the Owls sorry season!

Can we either teach bunting or stop bunting?

7 losses in a row, and 11 of the last 12. Amazing.
