Roughnecks concessions - this is the signage so far.
Nothing for cooked/heated things so far, or for snacks.
There is a cook tent set up on the west side concourse, and they can grill over there, using propane.

Lots of packages of snack items stashed somewhere...

Roughnecks no-cash self-serve POS stations.
This is similar to the setup at the bowl game in Dallas.

c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

ESPN has installed a SkyCam.
The cables go to the top of the outboard light tower on each side, over a pulley, and then all the way to the ground to the motor that feeds and retrieves it.
That's a lot of wire.

The UFL and ESPN don't have 75 years of history and the comfort of the majority of the fans (shade) in mind in order to maximize the crowd for TV - the east stands are the "home" side for the Roughnecks.

Houston Roughnecks...
2pm kickoff this afternoon for the Roughnecks from Rice Stadium

ESPN and ESPN+ both with coverage

Houston is only a 1 point favorite.

We cover that easily. We gotta beat Memphis by a TD or more.

Prediction: Roughnecks 21, Showboats 13

Maybe it’s the campus? Roughnecks are doing any better than the Owls’ mens’ teams, down 9-0 in the 1Q including a fumble recovery for a TD.

Baseball fiasco this weekend was in Kansas, but your point remains.

Maybe the Mens’ teams need to get together and hold an exorcism, sacrifice a chicken to Jobu, or something. Of course, not sure who’d even show up for basketball.

Good to hear (and yes, I recall now is batting in the top innings)

Or attempting to

But the good news is “we’re not in Kansas anymore”

Also, the roughnecks have edged closer. Sure, still down 12, but now only by a 3:1 score ratio rather than the lopsided 5:1 halftime ratio.

Need to get that to 1:1 before regulation ends.

6-18 midway through the 4Q

Roughnecks had a chance to pull off a miracle comeback, but fumble the punt with under a minute to play to lose 18-12. Why does this seem all too familiar?

Well, the Dynamo and Dash both won on Saturday, HCU took two of three from Southeastern Louisiana, TSU took two of three over PVAM, and the Rockets won their 11th straight Friday night with a chance at 12 in row tonight vs Dallas.

On the downside, in addition to the Roughnecks spitting the bit, the Stros were swept by the Yankees, Coogs swept by TCU and the Owls swept by the Shockers.

And the Rockets lost at home to cap off a not so stellar weekend for Houston teams.

Rice Men’s and Women’s Tennis went a combined 4-0 this weekend. Maybe we need a 2024 Tennis thread?!

My guess was around 7k.
I have yet to find any real reporting on the game, including a box score that would list the reported attendance.
But that was in the wee hours of the morning.
Haven't tried again since the sun came up here.

RE: Houston Roughnecks...
Jack Marrion III is the Chronicle (the only paper in town) reporter assigned to the Roughnecks.
Today's online paper has a lengthy review of the game, with no box score.
The eDition (page-for-page scan of the print paper) has 8 paragraphs (much shorter) on page B7.
Still digging for details...
Jack's only contact info is through the blue birdie (X), and I don't do X any more. Unable to ask him about the box score.
